Inbound Logistics Magazine has been promoting education within the transportation and logistics industry since 1981. Focusing primarily on back-room functions and supply chain operations, the publication coined the term 3PL and has been publishing a 3PL issue every July for several years. In doing so, the magazine hopes to provide readers with a reliable resource on the outsourced logistics market and 3PL providers.
Within its July issue, Inbound Logistics includes such lists as its Top 100 3PL Providers. Although the magazine does include well-known companies in this lists, it also draws attention to newer companies specializing in logistics services and 3PL niche providers.
For the Top 100 list, companies are listed alphabetically rather than in a ranked order and are selected from Inbound Logistics’ survey database. Companies can submit an online form to either add themselves to this database or update their information. Through this form, businesses discuss where they operate, their size, various certifications, and their services.
